Hey kiddo,
I've been staring at the parchment like if it's going to give me the words I should probably be using, but there's no answers on the parchment, so ... here it goes. There's something you need to know and that you need to learn from me rather than some exaggerated report on the papers.
First of all, we're fine. All of us are okay, so please keep that in mind. It's just that, earlier today Dad was attacked at the school. He's okay, I haven't gotten a chance to talk to him so I don't know all the details, but from what I do know the person that attacked him was Professor Krysteva. It seems the person that did the attacks in the school was none other than that professor. That's the conclusion so far, at least; we haven't gotten confirmation but it all fits. It's ... a lot to wrap your mind around, I know, but statements will be made soon and (like I said) we wanted you to learn about this from us.
Dad is in the infirmary until further notice, and since they're not mentioning St Mungo's at all it's safe to assume that his condition isn't grave enough to need to be there. He just needs rest, and I'm sure that Poppy will force him to do so, so please don't worry. I know it's a really hard thing to ask you, but don't worry, we'll take care of him. Right now just stay safe, and if for whatever reason you see Krysteva, let us know. Steer clear from her, Maisie, because she's dangerous and we all know it. Please, please just stay safe.
I love you. As soon as I hear more, I'll let you know.

ooc: my internet is way too spotty tonight to let me get on AIM, since the connection seems to have fun kicking me out at the most random moment, but I figured I could get this out of the way before giving up trying to fix the modem for the night.
After this.
Anybody that knows Teddy Lupin knows that there are moments when his emotions take the best of him. They make him react in certain ways that normally he wouldn't do, and it's a curse he believes, but he has been trying to control that for years now.
Maybe that's the reason why, when he learns about Heim's statement, he doesn't overreact. There is no override of emotions and thoughts that block him out, even if he can feel everything already starting to collide in him. Before letting those emotions take over him, however, he somehow manages to keep his mind clear. If they freeze and lose time, then they're screwed.
Quiet that heart, Mr. Lupin, he could already hear his mentor saying.
Right. Quiet that heart. Look Professor, here's the perfect picture of calmness at the moment when usually he would most likely be seeking out Heim to choke the life right out of him with the anger that he feels towards the pathetic excuse for a man.
Of course, there's the thought of morphing into Maisie and finding a way of keeping her far far away from Heim's reach. It's something that he's storing in the back of his mind to think about later - right now there's something else that is more pressing than that. They need back-up, and he knows it. And for back-up, there's only one person that Teddy trusts - and that would be his best friend, Riley Logan. His sister was going to need help (or himself, if he really did end up morphing into her so that she wouldn't have to be sent to Azkaban for any period of time), and they needed to call in reinforcements as quickly as possible.
Which is why, calmly enough to even be considered eerie, Teddy writes an owl for Riley, charms it for his eyes only, and sends it on his way.
You've probably heard what happened by now. I don't know that many details, but I need a huge favor. When the time comes, which seems to be soon, can you be the solicitor that represents her? I trust you, Riley. We need to make this go away, yeah?

- Turquoise is the colour that means I'm in a good mood.
- Red means I'm in a horrible mood. And that Vic is probably snickering at the sight of the red hair.
- Yellow and black means I'm showing my house pride.
- Red, green and blue at the same time? I'm showing my support for James, Lily and Albus Severus.
- Slytherin green means I'm showing off showing my support to Gran and Professor Snape for their her house.
- Pink is for Maisie.
- Black means I settled for my normal hair colour. And want to be like my godfather, and my father's best friends.
- Orange usually means I'm at the Weasleys'.
- Completely blonde? You're probably looking at some of the pictures from my childhood. Most of the time I was trying to imitate Vic's hair, I think.
- Most of the time I stick with turquoise, though. Turquoise and black. Why settle for just one colour, yeah?

This is kind of a tricky question, isn't it? If you say yes, you look like a bastard. If you say no, you look like someone just waiting to be stomped on.
I don't think it's appropriate to be unkind to people, but at the same time everyone has a limit. Even the nicest one of the lot. You're supposed to treat others as you want to be treated, and there's some level of common courtesy that needs to be given. Why burn bridges by being a git to someone, you know?
Not everyone knows of that "common courtesy," though. It's actually rather uncommon sometimes, so why keep being kind to those people if they don't deserve it? Being cruel or whatever for no reason is stupid, I think, but at the same time I don't believe that there's a point in wasting your time, kindness and efforts in people who don't deserve it. Respect is earned. It's not just something that's a given.
When I'm angry I can be really ... well, unkind is one word for it. If I'm cross at someone, I stop trying to be nice. What's the point, if things are just one sided? It's probably very un-badger like of me, but I guess things change as years pass and we get older. I know I used to be nice and kind to everyone I'd meet. I still am, but my fuse is shorter for those that don't deserve it. I'm so tired of that right now, but I'm just trying to learn how to pick my battles. Instead of wasting my time being overly kind to someone who doesn't deserve it, or being purposely unkind even if they do deserve it, I'm learning to stay indifferent. Or I'm trying, anyway. Wasting my time, efforts and energy is pointless. If that counts as being unkind, then that's that, I guess.
